Dog Days of Summer for Us?
Yes, what people refer to as the ‘dog days of summer’, actually refers to people experiencing the middle days of summer. Very hot weather being the crux of the issue for folks, but for baseball, it’s a kind of lull in the schedule where the heat can combine with a lack of seriousness towards the goal of winning the division and having momentum going into the playoffs. The Dodgers are currently in that now, with a 6 game losing streak.
When a baseball player has been traveling through a 7 day a week life for a long time these days through a lengthy schedule. The results of 6 consecutive losses show each 3 game series opponent, that all they have to do is step up their game a little and take advantage. The Dodgers aren’t so tough after all then, right? It may not eventually show up in the standings, but the day of broadcasts hint to it. This team is great fyi fans, don’t you worry.
Of course these guys have a plan, Dave Roberts has the tools and seeing young pitchers out there right now is apart of the dog days. I cannot layout what I believe the plan is in this article based on the teams’ past history (we need to make more content). But, as sure as your Dodger Dog isn’t grilled anymore and your Michelada is $25, the Dodgers will find a way to collect themselves at just the right time.
Patience.
